Some would probably say that Ana Ivanovic is on the road of finding her top form once again after being runner up at Indian Wells, losing in final to Vera Zvonareva from Russia in two straight sets. Not according to my book. I believe she is still far away from that form that not so long ago made her No.1 in the world; at this moment there are simply to much errors in her game to make her top again. Yeah she reached the final of Indian Wells but she was also very lucky with draw, and the only top player she played in this tournament was Vera Zvonareva that proved too much at this moment for Ana by beating her in two straight sets. So it would definitely take a lot more from Ana to convince me she's on the right track to NO.1 spot.
At this point I'm even more surprised with Jelena Jankovic, another Serbian girl that is currently struggling with her form. Jelena Jankovic was last year the most consistent player on tour, always reaching at least QF, and only losing the matches against top opposition. This year is completely different story and Jelena is really struggling to find that consistency that made her No.1 last year. Both Serbian girls will have to show much more in the remainder of this year if they want to compete with the likes of Williams sisters and the strong Russian pack.
