Elena Dementieva started playing tennis very early, and she won first international tournament when she was 13 (Les Petit As). She is coached by her mother Vera that also travels with her on tournaments. So far her highest rank was No.4, and though she's almost constantly among top 15 players in the world, she still lacks success on Grand Slams and she often struggles to compete against players ranked above her. She's not in her starting years and competition is prettty tough, so it looks unlikely that she has enough to win any of the four Grand Slams in years to come. However Elena Dementieva has the talent and she often plays very smart, although she could use some work to produce more powerful shots.
Elena Dementieva likes to play chess and skiing and her tennis idol is Martina Hingis because of her intelligent play and amazing tactics on tennis court. She loves all animals, especially dogs. Her primary goal is to improve her ranking and win at least one of four Grand Slams. This looks to be perhaps too difficult task for Elena as there is more than worthy competition above her at this moment. But she definitely has enough talent to go all the way.
And here's one nice Elena Dementieva video.
