Jelena Jankovic - The most consistent player on tour?

I don't know about you but I believe that most consistent player on WTA tour is none other than Jelena Jankovic. You will rarely see JJ exit early at some tournament in 2008, and this is the reason why she was already number one in 2008, and is looking to become No.1 again. Just take a look at her Grand Slam appearances in 2008, US open final, two semifinals in French Open and Australia, and 4r at Wimbledon. She still haven't won the Grand Slam but if she continues with her current consistency this will be only matter of time.

If you take comparison between JJ and Ana Ivanovic or Maria Sharapova you will see that consistency is definitely at JJ's side, with Ana Ivanovic losing in 2r of US Open, and 3r of Wimbledon, and Maria Sharapova exiting in 2r of Wimbledon. Jelena Jankovic has been consistent throughout the whole year, which was eventually rewarded with No.1 ranking. Her critics always say she hasn't won Grand Slam. This is true but tennis isn't only winning Grand Slams, it is also collecting as much points as possible in all tournaments, and this is where consistency makes the difference. In the second half of the year Dinara Safina also showed consistency but JJ did it throughout the whole year so I think she earned this title.
